As someone who has given Starbucks an embarrassing amount of $$ over the years, when I saw their new Iced Brown Sugar Oat Milk Shaken Espresso, (damn that’s a mouthful) I was tempted to try it. I also heard about how it sells out pretty quickly everyday, so instead of taking that risk and possibly enduring the pain of driving without any reward (I really cannot express how much I hate driving), I tried to make it at home instead. I cheated and used instant coffee instead of espresso, and it still came out pretty great. 10/10 would recommend.
2 teaspoons instant coffee, I use Nescafe
1 tablespoon brown sugar, or to taste
1/8 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/4 cup water
4 – 6 oz oat milk
Add the instant coffee, brown sugar, cinnamon, vanilla, and water to a mason jar. Screw the lid on and shake until thick and foamy, about 30 seconds. Remove the lid, add the ice and oat milk, and sprinkle with cinnamon.
